Rugby Champagne Launch

Landrieux Wineries made its debut with Rugby Champagne brand on March 4th as one of the first Black woman- owned champagne brands in the nation. There was endless champagne flow, live jazz by the Kabir Dalawari Trio, hors d’oeuvres, a selection of sweets and treats, and a caviar sommelier that educated guests on the varieties they offered.

The night was launched with a roaring 20s theme in the historic Hyde Park Bank located at 1525 E. 53rd St. Guests came out in their best attire to celebrate with the founders Karolyn, Amber, and Pierre. It was a night to remember, with guests conversing and savoring the variety of champagnes. Offerings included Rugby Champagne, La Vie en Pink, and Purple Label, each delivering a crisp and elegant taste of luxury.

To end the night, there was a silent auction featuring a luxury basket for the highest bidder. But don’t fret, those who did not leave with the grand prize were still able to walk away with a goodie bag filled with a stemless champagne flute, a bottle topper, Landrieux’s custom made sauce infused with their champagne, and an assortment of cookies by Color Hospitality Group.

Celebrating this launch during Women’s History Month, marks an historic milestone for women in the champagne industry, and it can be another additive in the history book for women accomplishments.

As said by Amber, “Whatever it is that you’re  interested in, try to stay true to what your mission is and what your values are, and keep aiming towards it.”
